Geminids and the Milky Way

A combination of light aurora, the milky way and a Geminids Meteor storm/ shooting star over Eystrahorn Mountain in Southern Iceland Dec 2015 the challenge was to get the northern star, Plough star system, aurora, The Milky Way and a shooting Meteor all in one go... After a long cold night and lots of (very) near misses thanks to a combination of the Canon 1dx MKi and the 11-24 lens at 11mm C'est Voila!

you have to love that intense winter light! We were there to photograph Vestrahorn at sunrise but in a classic British Comedy moment, ITS BEHIND YOU!!!!! this is what was going on behind us. Thank God I turned round ;-)
