Taken from the highly visited but often stormy and dangerous Reynisfjara black sand beach. A matter of weeks later a tourist was washed to their death by one of the huge waves. Unfortunately it may well now be monitored by the Icelandic Government as tourists (and photographers) fail to apply common sense in the attempt to get a dramatic image. Many get either themselves or kit swamped by freak waves
long exposure in quite stormy weather, good job I have a heavy tripod!
whilst the sea looks calm (ish) thanks to the long exposure it was actually running a large tide and blowing a hoolie.
