Iceland - Summer
A Selection of Landscape and wildlife Images taken over two extended summer photographic trips to Iceland. One to the N/W and N in 2008 and the other exploring the south coast in 2010 which was a matter of 8-9 weeks after the 2010 Eyjafjallajökull Volcanic eruption. Some of the images taken from Thórsmörk (Thors Ridge) show some of the devastation form where the glacial lagoon burst and its contents washed down the valley and out to sea

Eyjafjallajökull Flood Plain
Taken from the Thórsmörk (Icelandic: Þórsmörk,) aka Thors ridge. This is the large flood plain below the Eyjafjallajökull volcano which had recently erupted sending huge quantities of flood water ( known as the Eyjafjallajökull Jökulhlaup on April 14th 2010) down the valley that had melted from the Ice Cap (above left) forming a large lagoon until that then burst 3 months earlier in mid April. The rivers and Krossá (left) and Markarfljót (right)
