Iceland - Summer
A Selection of Landscape and wildlife Images taken over two extended summer photographic trips to Iceland. One to the N/W and N in 2008 and the other exploring the south coast in 2010 which was a matter of 8-9 weeks after the 2010 Eyjafjallajökull Volcanic eruption. The (ex) Eyjafjallajökull Glacial Lagoon
or atleast what's left of it...
The contents were all washed down the valley when the lagoon wall finally burst and washed out to sea off the south cast of Iceland, you can clearly see where the super heated steam and water melted through the glacial snout. This huge glacial outburst ( April 14th 2010) is known as the Eyjafjallajökull Jökulhlaup.
