A temperature Inversion at sunset taken from haytor lowman looking to haytor main tor, a group of teenagers (caps and hoodies, stereotype, tick) obliged for a sense of scale. available with and without the hoodies ;-) The pink band of light on the horizon is known as the belt of Venus

An old school Dartmoor image of Emsworthy Rock...
An old school image of the infamous tree that sits between Saddle Tor and Holwell Tor. General consensus is it’s (now) called Emsworthy Rock. This was taken on the original Canon 5D so will be lacking in detail compared to shots created more recently. This spot is dogged by good sunsets BUT with lots of aircraft contrails heading out across the North Atlantic. I suspect that its close to a navigational turning point?

The (in)famous tree between Saddle Tor and Holwell Tor that seems to be now called Emsworthy Rock with the evening light streaming through the hawthorn tree and lighting the granite
All gone a bit mad at Emsworthy Rock
Often mistaken (for some odd reason as its several hundred meters away) for Saddle Tor , this has to be one of the most photographed trees and granite outcrops on Dartmoor. all a bit cliché however I find it a really relaxing spot. General consensus seems to have settled on Emsworthy Rock.
